It looks like I spoke too soon.

Around 3am this morning, The PowerBook G4 just stopped working. I’ve tried to revive it a few times today, but not with any luck. I can force reboot the machine and the apple logo comes up, but that’s as far as I get. There’s one other option I plan on trying, but it could take a few days before I can get around it.

So for now the broadcast is back to its basic mode. That means you’re going to hear some commercials and the 7-hour playlist instead of the 21-day playlist.

Once I switch the broadcast back to its live state, I’ll post it here.

Ye Olde iMac G3, gone but not forgotten

After 12 faithful years, the ol’ iMac G3 went to Apple heaven today. I pulled her off of life support because she blew out her monitor. Couldn’t see a thing. Just a little green power light indicating that she’s getting juice but not showing a picture.

Her sole job was to broadcast Gumbo Radio. So that broadcast is canned for the time being. If you have a line on a cheap (and I mean painfully cheap) Mac with Firewire, please let me know. Email me at cook-at-gumboradio.com.
